Tragedy in Gonars (Udine) – On Sunday, June 29th, a 44-year-old man, a Ukrainian truck driver, suddenly passed away while he was at the Gonars service station along the A4 highway towards Venice.
The alarm and prompt intervention of emergency services
It was fellow truck drivers who noticed the man’s illness and immediately raised the alarm by calling 118. Within minutes, paramedics arrived on the scene and initiated cardio-pulmonary resuscitation maneuvers, using emergency equipment such as a defibrillator. Despite the promptness and professionalism of the emergency services, the truck driver did not regain consciousness.
Investigations and assessments on the dynamics of the incident
Law enforcement officers also intervened at the scene, initiating all necessary checks to precisely reconstruct the circumstances of the illness and the sequence of events.

The sudden death of the truck driver has left a deep mark among the present colleagues, many of whom had shared part of the journey with him. The pain and dismay are palpable, as well as the solidarity shown in these hours among the drivers and nearby communities.
